The Barolo appellation covers a number of towns, but some of the greatest Nebbiolo vineyards of all are on the steeps of La Morra. It is here on this, “Golden Slope”, along with famous names including Case Nere, Fossati, Cerequio, and Brunate, that Enzo’s vineyards flourish.

Since taking over his family’s Piedmont domaine in the early 1990’s, he has been on the forefront of modern wine making. From these vineyards, he produces three to four hundred cases from each of the four crus: Case Nere, Fossati, Arione and Brunate.

Deciding not to produce a straight Barolo, he chooses to make a Super – Piedmont wine called “Buio” consisting of 80% Nebbiolo from his Barolo vineyards, and 20% Barbera to contribute color, fruit and a brighter nose.

His Dolcettos and Barberas are made with a combination of French oak and tank to create beautiful, concentrated, fruit – forward wines of exceptional quality for these varietals. Of particular interest, is the Dolcetto d’Alba “Tiglineri” coming from 60 year old vines and the small production Barbera d’Alba “Vigna dei Romani”.
