The Barolo appellation includes several towns but some of the greatest Nebbiolo vineyards of all are on the steps of La Morra. Enzo’s vineyards flourish on this “Golden Slope” along with famous names including Case Nere, Fossati, Cerequio, and Brunate.

Since taking over his family’s Piedmont domain in the early 1990’s, Enzo has been on the forefront of modern wine making. He produces three to four hundred cases from each of the four crus: Case Nere, Fossati, Arione, Brunate and most recently Boiolo.

Deciding not to produce a straight Barolo, he chooses to make a Super-Piedmont wine called “Buio” consisting of 80% Nebbiolo from his Barolo vineyards and 20% Barbera to contribute color, fruit and a brighter nose.

Enzo’s Dolcettos and Barberas are made with a combination of French oak and stainless-steel tank to create beautiful, concentrated, fruit-forward wines of exceptional quality. The Dolcetto d’Alba “Tiglineri” and the Barbera d’Alba “Vigna dei Romani” are of particular interest, the former coming from 60 year old vines and the latter being very small production.
